A gleaming 6 inches diameter half coconut shell - created from inner shell of a coconut husk subjected to a seven-level sanding process - tops this 35 inches hand-tuned bamboo chime by Asli Arts. Hand-made in Bali. Every Asli Arts chime features the mellow, earth-inspired tones unique to resonating bamboo tubes. Each Asli Arts chime is hand-tuned by a trained artist-musician who whittles each tube to the perfect pitch, repeatedly tapping each bamboo tube as he carves until the sound is just right. Then our artisans select a range of tube sizes that when combined and touched by gentle breezes, create a deep resonating sound. Bamboo tubes emit notes based on size, large tubes produce lower tones and smaller tubes emit higher-pitched sounds. By hand-tuning each tube, then selecting a range of sizes, each Asli Arts chime produces a melody unique to itself. I love this windchime, it was worth ever penny. The sound is low and mellow. These are made from sustainable bamboo and coconut. I enjoy mine so much, I got one to give as a gift. Highly recommended!
Bamboo Chime, Sounds Great January 3, 2010

I Like the size of this bamboo chime. Not to Large! I was worried it would be to big. It has a deeper nice sound because the bamboo is bigger around. Nice big paddle so it won't take much for the paddle to move. We will be hanging it on our motor home awning! The only thing is it says it is sealed but not good, it must be a very light coating I can't even tell that it is sealed! I will decorate it with paints and seal it again but with a good strong coating. I love to paint and now I have something to do this winter while waiting to go camping! Even if your not going to paint it you should know it needs to at least be sealed with a good clear varnish as soon as you get it, because with really dry weather it will start to crack. Right now we have it in the house and we heat our house with wood and it is dry in here and one evening we heard a snap and pop sound, it is starting to split because it isn't sealed very good! After the sounds we found a light short crack in the paddle. I will need to paint and seal it soon.

This wind chime sounds nice, but is NOT as large as they state. At best it is about 24 inches long.
